Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn (born Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn) is an American actress who is active in television, film and the theater. A gifted thespian, she has been active in the professional world since the past 27. Her first appearance on the stage as a character in the production The Big Funk (John Patrick Shanley) on Broadway off-Broadway. A year later she was chosen for her first TV role in The Perfect Tribute. The year was 1992 and she got her first role as a character supporting in the movie Basic Instinct. It marked the beginning of her impressive career. It was in The Firm however that she was cast as the female lead for the very first time, and this was also against actors like Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. Through the 1990s her career was a collaboration with Hollywood's top actors such as Gwyneth in Sliding doors, Hugh Grant Mickey Blue Eyes, and Julie Andrews Relative Values. Most recently, she played her character of Alex Blake, Dr. Alex Blake in Criminal Minds.
